About

In America, I’m Angela.

In Niger, my name is Balkissa.

In France, I’m the blonde girl who speaks French like an African.

I feel alive and independent when I travel, whether it’s for work or pleasure. I’ve settled into a life in the States just fine, but I often think of my adventures abroad and wonder when the next one will be. I started this blog during my trip back to Niger — my home away from home — in 2008.

My goal (as of November 2010) will be to add an entry every Friday, documenting a memory from somewhere I’ve traveled to in the past. Because there are great experiences that I don’t want to forget.

Note: header photo credit is due to Andrea Dearborn Peer, during our trip to Haiti in 2007.
